This coffee is from Banka farm in Yunnan Province, where Chinese specialty coffee is rapidly evolving. Named after two neighboring villages in Menglian County, Banka represents the cutting edge of China's coffee transformation. Our partners, Yunnan Coffee Traders (YCT), manage the wet mill and 100 hectares of farmland, pioneering innovations like optical sorting, yeast fermentation processing, and new varietals.
YCT's mission goes beyond great coffee; they're creating sustainable opportunities for Yunnan farmers while employing industry best practices. China is a tea country discovering its coffee potential, and Banka farm offers a glimpse into what's next. This is an underexplored terroir with limitless potential, showcasing what happens when a region known for tea turns its expertise toward coffee.
